Discovery Paddle Tour of Pond 2019

On July 13, 2019, a group of 11 folks on a variety of water craft traced the perimeter of the Straits Pond to check on the condition of the water and the plants growing on the surface. The full extent of the pond was usable in spite of the widgeon grass with various algae attached.  With the tide gates at West Corner closed when the water level was high, launching was safely and easily accomplished.

This event was cancelled in 2020 but will be repeated in 2021.
